Scope Variation Monitoring

Scope Variation Monitoring

During the course of any construction project, the work scope may change. Changes may be due to variation in scope, instructions from owners, design modifications, unforeseen site conditions, material nonavailability, request by the contractor, value engineering exercise, etc. By implementation of a change, the impact on time and cost is to be analyzed and an agreement is to be reached between the owner and the contractor.

The scope variation requires reworking of time planning exercise for the project and preparation of revised baseline schedule along with revised resource plan. The scope variation can alter the critical path of the project and may alter the project timeline.

During implementation of scope variation in project, the time monitoring and time control are to be carried out based on revised baseline schedule.
